Position: Senior System Engineer

Location: Munich, Germany

Role Purpose:
- To ensure system architecture & functionality meets customer requirements and system will be delivered on schedule & at required quality in order to ensure project launch
- To achieve Nippon Seiki Business targets by maintaining customer satisfaction and continuously improving product value and process efficiency

Role Requirements/Responsibilities:
- First technical contact person for customers and developers
- Technical leader for SE activities in allocated projects
- Analysis of customer requirements and evaluation of development efforts based on functionality needed to meet requirements
- Lead system design in cooperation with HW & SW design teams
- Requirements management
- Error analysis and tracking in the internal error management system
- Preparation and presentation of technical reports, e.g. error status, development status and plan etc.
- Evaluation of changes of requirements regarding their effects on the software and hardware in cooperation with the responsible HW and SW engineers
- Document management, e.g. SW release and change documentation, customer-specific reporting, etc.
- Technical support for customer meetings
- Supplier management, i.e. inviting and assessment of supplier offers as well as acting as the technical interface between our suppliers and the development in Japan

Candidate Requirements and Competencies:
- Successfully completed engineering studies (1st degree graduation), ideally in electrical engineering or an equivalent qualification
- Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in automotive industry, overall minimum 5-7 year of professional experience
- Experience in the development of control units and Embedded-SW
- Deep knowledge of the typical system- and component requirements
- Knowledge of the Automotive SPICE or CMMI-DEV, in particular of the requirements management process as well as of Autosar
- Knowledge of communication busses such as CAN/LIN/MOST and experience in the handling of the corresponding development tools
- Experience in the handling of requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS, Mantis, etc.)
- Knowledge in the field of analogue and digital circuits as well as in the field of EMC-test
- Experience in the support in the troubleshooting and debugging of HW and SW implementations
- Team management skill, supervise and plan tasks
- Good communication skills in dealing with project managers and engineers in different fields of responsibility both at the customer and inside
- Fluent command of English and German is prerequisite
- Very good communication skills, mediation skills between customer requirements and technical possibilities
- Diplomatic skills, intuition for different cultures and a very high service orientation
