Purpose:

The Product Manager manages existing products and services, as assigned as well as creating and integrating new products and product changes. In this role, the Product Manager conducts industry/market research, and in-life performance measurement to determine product demand, positioning, viability, and profitability. The Product Manager will create formal business cases and product descriptions and work as a facilitator between the various internal organizations to ensure product policy and processes are negotiated, documented, and executed accurately. The Product Manager leads regularly scheduled meetings centred on system and operational requirements for product changes and new product development. Pre-empts potential problems and provides effective solutions in reaction to the application of concepts, techniques, knowledge, or processes developed to support the new product or product changes.

Result Areas:

  • Document proposed product strategy and corresponding business case
  • Managing the entire product line life cycle from planning to tactical activities
  • Lead definition of product KPIs, manage to KPIs and report on KPIs
  • Identifying and specifying market requirements for current and future products and or product features by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers
  • Coordinate and build strong working relations with various internal organizations including; ICT, DTEG, Sales, Marketing, Product Development, & Operations
  • Provide sales support as required
  • Builds and maintains relationship and collaboration with multiple external organizations in support the assigned product(s)
  • Driving a solution set across development teams (primarily Operations, Sales Support, and Marketing Communications) through market requirements, product contract, and positioning
  • Lead beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and delivery techniques
  • Developing and implementing a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all relevant departments to execute

Essential Knowledge:

  • Lead the development, approval, training, and communication of new products/product changes and their associated customer, operational, system, & process impacts to the various internal organizations
  • Develop & conduct specialized training on new products launched and raise awareness & application of relevant subject matter
  • Monitor internal processes for efficiency and validity pre & post product launch/changes
  • Display a high level of critical thinking in cross-functional process analysis and problem resolution for new and existing products
  • Provide support for other departmental projects as needed
  • Participate in opportunities to develop both personally and professionally
  • Adhere to Corporate policies

Qualifications:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 
  • The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 
  • Knowledgeable in data centre design, colocation business, telecommunications
  • Strong background in data networking architecture and applications; eg, VLAN
  • One or more Cisco certifications (eg, CCIE) are an enormous advantage
  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing models and delivery architecture
  • 3+ years of product marketing/product management experience
  • 2+ years of spreadsheet-based numerical analysis
  • Experience in product development, strategic planning, and implementation
  • Computer Science, Engineering, or Business degree or equivalent industry work experience
  • Fluent in English (both written and orally).  Other European languages are an advantage.

Additional Requirements:

  • This position requires travel (perhaps international) as much as 45%
