Medical Director/Clinical Director for Gastroenterology (m/f)

• Coordinate and support the Local Operating Company (LOC) medical staff to ensure the success of commercial and medical affairs activities in emerging markets and to meet the business needs of the region in the therapeutic area of gastroenterology
• Identify the needs of medical activities with regard to ad board, symposia, speaker tours, training etc. and conduct/supervise these activities to support the marketing objectives
• Prepare the regional medical strategic plan aligned with the Global Medical Affairs (GMA) plans
• Allocate, maintain and update the budgets allocated to medical activities
• Partner with affiliate support, compliance and GMA-operations to design and implement global standard operating procedures that are aligned with the regional needs, including communication and implementation of these SOPs within the respective region
• Support on-boarding and knowledge transfer within respective region by partnering with the affiliate support and KIC teams, and other stakeholders to meet the informational needs of regional and local medical teams
• Work with LOC and area medical staff and support integration and communication to GMSTs, GOR, regulatory and development teams as appropriate with strategic medical input
• Provide input and guidance to the medical information and professional strategy teams within respective region
• Develop the regional strategic communication plan in line with the product Life Cycle Management Plan

• MD (preferred), PhD or other strong Life Sciences qualification
• Some IBD experience preferred
• In-depth experience in the pharmaceutical industry (including medical affairs and/or clinical development), academic research, healthcare management experience, and/or other medically relevant experience
• Ability to influence others in a matrix setting, achieving alignment and consensus
• Significant international/emerging markets experience, working in a cross-cultural environment
• Experience working with national and international regulatory agencies
• Good knowledge of the international healthcare market, ability to identify healthcare trends and the related commercially opportunities
• Excellent skills in English, both verbal and written
• Good soft skills
