An Offshore Wind Operator is looking for x2 Foundation Engineers to complete OPC Offshore Pre-Construction work on multiple offshore wind farm projects. These Foundation Engineers will be based in Hamburg and report to the Foundation Package Manager. These roles are to start immediately and continue through to 31/03/16 with extensions likely.The Foundation Engineers will provide Technical Support to the Foundations package in all activities related to the design, procurement, manufacturing, installation and commissioning of offshore foundations for two offshore wind projects in the Baltic Sea.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and knowledge expertise to the design, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning of offshore foundations and related items in accordance with in-house engineering, Q&A, and HSSE procedures in respect to time, costs, safety, quality and interfaces.
- Co-ordinate the full design and implementation process in accordance with in-house engineering procedures during preliminary and detailed design in alignment with the Foundation Package Manager and related Engineering Packages.
- Analysis of existing designs and implementation of technical standards.
- Act as the focal point within the Foundations Team for all the technical interfaces with the Foundations designer and external consulting companies.
- Provide Technical Support to the Procurement Team in the co-ordination of the tendering processes and evaluation of suppliers.
- Participate in certification and other regulatory processes in accordance to local requirements and international standards.
- Manage different contracts throughout the project development and construction phases.
- Promote good HSSE practices and ensure client's and local HSSE requirements are fully implemented.
- Provide up to date budget-relevant information, including the provision of price indications from different suppliers.
- Development and implementation of cost reduction measures and actively look for solutions to reduce offshore wind project costs.
- Ensure implementation of lessons learnt and best practice of existing project.
- Ensure risks are addressed/reported, mitigation action determined and risks are minimised, or closed out
- Coordinate commissioning and operational handover of offshore foundations during construction phase.
- Provide monthly progress reports to the Project Manager.
- Manage the suppliers to ensure their delivery to the project's defined quality requirements.
- Ensure all interfaces with other Packages and Central Teams are managed and addressed.
- Ensure that the technical assurance of design is reviewed with support from Asset Management and Quality Teams.
- Support to the Project QA/QC Manager in all activities related to Foundation package.
- Co-ordinate all project participants (project team, procurement, offshore technical support, external designers, suppliers and installation/logistics contractors) in alignment with the Senior Foundation Manager.
- Cooperate with the Offshore Technical Support to define optimum design in terms of transport and installation.
Qualifications
- Excellent university degree (structural or civil engineering preferably with specialisation in steel structures).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in foundation design and construction, preferably within major offshore construction projects.
- Proficient software skills with MS Word, MS Project and/or Primavera, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and AutoCAD.
- Very good understanding of technical and organisational processes.
- Ability to structure complex processes.
- Outstanding communication skills.
- Experience in leading and working with multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and German language skills. Danish language skills would be an advantage.
