Applications Manager - Dusseldorf - €550 - 3 months
My client are looking for an experienced Application Manager to work on client site in Dusseldorf and Ratigen, Germany. The opportunity will be for an initial 3 months with likely extensions.
Your tasks will include:
* Technical verification of delivered infrastructure (eg validating Server builds)
* Review of Vendor documentation (eg installation- & administration guides)
* Review of Design documentation
* Installation of software solutions ontop of the infrastructure delivered by DataCenters
* Troubleshooting application related issues (eg performance issues)
* Setup of Monitoring
* Automating installation and deployment procedures
* Creating software and environment documentation for application operations teams.
* Support security tests and system hardening
* Support performance testing
* Webserver configurations
* Transition into BAU - training 2nd level application operations teams
* Operational Testing (eg Failover testing of clustered components)
You must have the following skills:
* Very Good understanding of administrating and installing applications in Windows server environments
* Basic knowledge and some experience in Windows based operating systems
* Very Good understanding in at least one Scripting language (preferable BASH or Python)
* Experience in installing and configuring Apache and Nginx webservers
* Experience in deploying and operating Java applications in Windows server environments
* Good understanding of TCP/IP
* Good understanding of HTTP and WebApplications in general
* Basic knowledge of versioning systems (eg Subversion or Git)
