Project description:
As a member (m/f) of a highly motivated team of researchers that works closely with other sites and businesses worldwide, you will provide your expertise especially in the area of real-time systems analysis, embedded systems design, implementation, integration and verification.
Tasks in detail:
* Develop advanced embedded systems architectures for applications within critical infrastructure (mining, healthcare, aviation, etc.)
* Identify real-time processing needs and formulate system requirements
* Keep abreast of embedded computer system developments and identify suitable opportunities for new technologies
* Participate in and lead projects from embedded system conception to implementation and validation
* Work with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, electronics, control theory, etc.) to develop innovative solutions
* Document work in reports, conference papers, and presentations to all levels of management
Required skills:
* Master degree in an embedded systems related topic
* Solid knowledge of computer architectures and operating systems
* Experience in programming of embedded systems (CPUs, microcontrollers and FPGAs)
* Experience with implementation and simulation of embedded systems (analog and digital circuit design)
* Practical experience with laboratory equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer)
* Debugging skills
* Industry experience, especially in a R&D environment, in embedded systems analysis, design, implementation, integration and verification is an advantage
* Experience with design of embedded systems for harsh environmental conditions (high-temperature, EMI, vibration, etc.)
* Experience with Labview
* Excellent communication skills
* Fluency in English, basic German is an advantage
Required languages: Fluent in English and basic in German
