The Team Leader Electronics will play a key role in day-to-day operations and strategic electronic product planning. He is accountable for and drives the product development of electronic hardware and software projects. The job holder shall provide strategic and technical leadership in the development and implementation of functional engineering best practices and in the planning, design and testing of technical product development. Leadership of the local electronic and software engineering is part of the role. In addition, the job holder is in charge of managing support from external engineering service providers.Key tasks / responsibilities / accountable for
? Drive the performance for the department as well as the extended engineering enterprise and assure that it achieves objectives and project completion within budget and time frame.
? Responsibility for the best possible use of available resources and capacities while complying with quality standards and delivery dates.
? Lead activities to optimize existing products, reducing costs, and improving performance.
? Continuous development and support of our existing products to comply with regulations.
? Support new Development projects of the company.
? Develop and build the electronic engineering team as well as robust structures and processes, succession planning.
? Comply with Quality Management system requirements and their application incl. safety management systems and compliance monitoring.
? Prepare and execute the annual budget for electronic engineering, including capital expenditures and inventory levels.
? Works with direct reports to create a “great place to work” culture.
Education
The candidate holds an academic degree in Electronics Engineering or similar technical qualification.
Skills and knowledge
? Experienced and competent in in hardware and software-development, documentation and testing of design for electronic applications.
? Deep knowledge of engineering/design, product development process in hardware and software and the execution of development projects according to standards DO254, DO178, V-Model and APQP
? Good knowledge in the performance of verification/testing activities according to standards DO254, DO178 and DO160
? Strong operational and analytical skills, very structured working approach and strong in the prioritization, planning and organization.
? Builds and manages the extended engineering enterprise (inhouse, Engineering Service Providers)
? Professional and positive approach, self-motivated, strong in building relationships, team player, dynamic, creative with the ability to work on own initiative.
? Strong relationship management, strategy development, project management, problem solving and change management skills.
? Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
? Enjoys the challenges of working in an international, dynamic, performance-driven, and growing organization.
? Fluent in English and German
? Experienced in aviation legislation, certification processes
