For one of our clients in the energy industry we’re looking for a freelance Disaster Recovery Project Manager:Project name: Shield
Project description: The aim of the project is to ensure appropriate management of Corporate IT resilience, patch and disaster recovery for 2024 together with related application modernization where time and budget are available within the 2024 Corporate IT Programme.
This will require professional consultancy for our application management team in ensuring our processes for the above topics are in place and completed within the project time window.
The services mentioned in the task description will be provided within the framework of an agile project management methodology.
Detailed description of the agile method/services:
The services shall be provided within the framework of an agile project management methodology. The concrete activities required in each case to implement the services commissioned shall be agreed iteratively between the parties within the framework of sprint meetings coordinated by the consultant within the respective sprints following the sprint meetings.
Prior to each sprint meeting, the consultant shall independently check, on the basis of its professional expertise, which individual services are reasonable and feasible within the scope of the assignment in the respective sprint.
The sprints each have a duration defined by the consultant and signed off by the client in advance, so that the sprint meetings take place at intervals decided by the consultant and signed off by the client in advance. Within the individual sprints, the contracting parties shall coordinate the respective requirements for the services to be provided in daily meetings in order to achieve the compatibility of the individual components of the project ‘Shield’. The technical requirements for the services to be provided are assessed by the consultant on the basis of its own technical assessment. After completion of a Sprint, the consultant shall conduct a Sprint Review'' in which the project team reports on the feasibility and status of the services performed by it in the previous Sprint and makes a recommendation on how to proceed with regard to the services that proved to be unfeasible in the respective Sprint.
All of the meetings and exchanges described above shall take place exclusively in the presence of the consultant, who shall coordinate the project. The organization and scheduling of the meetings described above in which the consultant is involved shall be organized and carried out by the consultant and coordinated with the client.
Task description:
Steer task allocation and track project team activities during all project phases.
Steer the creation of the mandatory project document and updates according to the client project management framework, which will be provided in advance by the client. Track escalations, risk and issues via a RAID log or related tool.
Prepare and chair project meetings for daily stand-ups, stakeholder engagement calls, impediment resolution and project steering.
Track expenditure in line with allocated project expenditure. Create appropriate reporting on a weekly basis and present it to the project steering committee for a sign off.
Liaison with dependent projects (as documented in the in advance shared RAID log) and stakeholders within the client via Sprint review meetings in the above mentioned rhythm through MS Teams to solicit feedback on project progress, dependencies and requirements.
Appear clearly as an external consultant of the client whenever interacting with external parties.
