Workload: Full-time preferred
Location: 25% Berlin onsite, 75% remote (3 weeks remote / 1 week Berlin)
Budget: 90,00 EUR netto remote, 102,25 EUR onsite
Role:
The Service team within the program organization is responsible for developing core services of a hybrid cloud platform, such as a private cloud Kubernetes Service, a Resource Management Service, a service Lifecycle
Management Service, and an Identity and Access Management Service. In addition, the team is developing an observability platform to monitor these (and in future other) services.
We are looking for an experienced operations engineer to join our team. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring the availability and reliability of our hybrid cloud platform services. You’ll collaborate closely with software engineers, DevOps teams, and other stakeholders to enhance the performance and availability of these Kubernetes-based systems.
Targets:
- Establish processes for incident, problem, and change management
- Contribute towards shaping the operationalization of CICD and IaC/GitOps processes
- Contribute towards the development of the observability platform
- Help establishing an operations team comprised of internal and external employees
- Work collaboratively with other members of the team, infrastructure teams, and others
Skills (must-have):
- Operational experience with productive applications or systems (ideally containerized and distributed)
- Thorough knowledge of containerization and container management, packaging of applications and customization of deployments
- Ability to manage CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with various relational and non-relational data technologies (e.g. PostgreSQL, Kafka, Neo4J, etc.)
- Experience with automation and infrastructure as code and/or gitOps
- Proficiency in both speech and writing in English (at least C1)
- Proficiency in both speech and writing in German (at least C1)
Skills (shloud-have):
- Experience with the usage of observability tools
- Experience with Kubernetes operators (with custom-build operators being a plus)
- Experience with hyperscalers (GCP and others)
- Experience with OT/IT integration
- Good understanding of networking concepts, including protocols, load balancing, and security
- Knowledge of ITSM frameworks
